Who's Who

The  church's ten bells are housed in the west tower, the tenor weighs 18.5 cwt. The heaviest six bells, which includes the tenor, were cast in 1721 by Abm. Rudhall of Gloucester with a further two bells added in 1863 cast by Warner of Cripplegate. The ring was made up into ten in 1926, these being from Gillett and Johnston in London who had already rehung the bells in 1907 ready for the new trebles. This was not Gillett's first work in the tower, a clock of Gillett and Bland (sadly now electrified) and the installation of their patent chiming machine. This work was carried out between 1873/74 and the chiming machine has a capability of fourteen tunes.

The last work on the bells was a complete re-hang, at a lower level, by Taylors of Loughborough was recast the third bell at the same time.

Ringing on Sunday's is at 08.45 to 9.30am and practice night is Thursday 19.30 to 21.00 with theory after.
